// Yaaay.
Well, as some of you know I have entered the Dark Horse Tournament. For those new to it, it's an original character tournament in which you get to write, draw or animate how your OC totally kills off the OC of the other deviant your pitted up against.
I'm drawing the bunch, as you might have already seen.
I was almost done with the final page of the first round, and when I wanted to finish it tonight, Photoshop goes all 'Can't find the file because it's empty' on me.

Right, common sense kicked in and thus I wandered the way to the awesome searching machine called Google and it came up with a few programs that could fix this problem. I downloaded a few, for PC and Mac alike, and ran them, but none of them want to work with my corrupt PSD file. I guess I got screwed and thus need to start over. Dammit! I don't really have much time for it. D8< I guess I'll leave the last page in a sketched manner, and update the worked out thinkg later.
Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope
Ah, what a marvelous and refreshing game. I'm playing it on my 360, and damn, it's awesome! It's so much better than Infinite Undiscovery, which was mediocre at best.. Can you believe it's the same company that made those 2 games? Heh...
I really like the game because of it's battle system and graphics (sorry, but it really DOES look that good). The battle systems is fast paced and works really well.
The areas you go through are rich in colors and scenery, unlike Infinite Undiscovery, which were pretty plain and empty.
The cast of characters is really colorful in diverse. Sure, Edge is a total anime hero rip-off, and Reimi takes the role of the stereotype over-protective and supportive/jealous/friend/secret lover (like, every story has these two stereotypes somewhere) but the rest of the bunch is pretty nice.
Faize is the type that looks up to Edge and holds etiquette in high regard. He's an Eldarian (alien, if you will), and has quite funky ears. xD
Lymle is cute. Basically everything she says is a question ending with 'kay? She's supposed to be 15 years old but she acts like a child of 8 years old. She's a pretty interesting character.
Bacchus is a scientist that transformed himself into a cyborg. Needless to say he's very intelligent. He's from a highly technological-advanced race that travels across the universe protecting other planets from evildoers.
Meracle is a cat girl. Literally. Due some incident she ended op on Earth, only to be found and locked away in a secret base. She got treated like an extraterrestrial, and was subject to various experiments. She doesn't know what planet she came from. She's my favorite character of the game. She's cheerful and go-lucky, and she's a good fighter, too.
Myuria is kind of the cool blooded type. She's from the same race as Bacchus. She joins Edge's crew by mere chance, but she also reveals to have more reasons to join.
Finally there's Sarah. I don't quite like her because she's too carefree and too oblivious to stuff in my opinion. She's from a sacred race called the Featherfolk. To describe her more accurately she's an angel without a halo and she can't fly.
I saw in some trailers that there's another character that joins Edge's crew, and that he replaces someone already in Edge's crew, but I haven't encountered him in-game yet aside from two small cut-scenes. Judging from those cut-scenes he's pretty cold and cruel, but very powerful.
Although Welch is a side character she's quite, how do you put it, weird in an awesome way. She's responsible for item-creating duties on Edge's spaceship. But her personality... So hyperactive, so nosy... She likes to poke her nose in things that's none of her business and always makes a remark whenever Edge gets a new crew member, often leading to funny moments. xD She even mentioned that she felt like she was walking through an anime convention... xD
Felt like I should go through the main cast, I guess. xD The story is kinda hard to follow since the objective of Edge's crew changes all the time, since every planet they come to has it's own problems. The main gist is this:
After World War III, the atmosphere on Earth got so badly polluted with radioactivity that it has became inhabitable, forcing the survivors of the war to live underground. Men then set their eyes on space. Some years later mankind managed to succeed in space-warping, allowing exploration of the universe. Their objective is to find a habitable planet with an Earth-like atmosphere. Edge and his crew are part of this space exploration team called the SRF and thus they carry the hope of the people left behind on Earth.
Well, I really like this game, and invested quite some time in it already. I just got on disc 2 out of 3 with already playing about 25 hours, so I don't think I'll have this game finished any time soon. xD
Motoi Sakuraba did another impressive soundtrack for this game, too. But I think I've listened to Sakuraba's music too much, it's getting a tad repetitive. He did compose my most favorite battle theme ever, though. 'The Incarnation of Devil'. I really like that track.
That's all!
